Illia Pogodin

hey, I'm

Illia Pogodin

software engineer & accidental artist

The story

By day I build distributed systems at scale — the boring-but-important kind that serves billions of people. By night (and weekends) I rescue single-use plates from the recycling bin and draw on them.

Platesigns started as a way to make something small and tangible — a counterweight to the invisible, ephemeral work of software. Each plate takes maybe an hour. Each one is slightly wrong in a different way. That's the point.
